I recently received some books from Zonderkidz for review - today I am happy to let you know about one of them - The Smallest Spot of a Dot: The Little Ways We’re Different, The Big Ways We’re the Same.
The Smallest Spot of a Dot: The Little Ways We’re Different, The Big Ways We’re the Same
Author - Linsey Davis and Michael Tyler
Illustrator - Lucy Fleming
Publisher - Zonderkidz
Ages - 4-7
There are several things I really like about this book -
- The illustrations are wonderful, full of color and details which will leave all children connecting with the story.
- I love the science and how it is presented in a very understandable way.
- I especially love the message of how we are all very much alike!
'Only .1% of our genes make us uniquely who we are. We are 99.9% identical, alike, the same—equal. This book is 100% about this truth.'
Combining whimsical rhymes and Lucy Fleming’s engaging art, The Smallest Spot of a Dot is:
- An inspiring story of connection, equality, and acceptance
- Multicultural, multiracial children’s picture book which recognizes our similarities and our uniqueness
- Great for classroom use as children explore genetics, DNA, and individuality
- The perfect read-aloud for kids ages 4–8
- A unique gift for birthdays and holidays, or a back-to-school treat"
I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it - consider getting it as a gift for a child you love for Children's Day - this coming Sunday!
