Today I am sharing some odd facts I found on-line. My grandsons thought several were extremely funny and/or surprising, so I thought I'd share them with you . . . chances are your grandchildren will also find them extremely funny and/or surprising as well!
- Hippo milk is pink. (Your grandchildren may think this must mean Hippo milk is strawberry milk!)
- Russia has a larger surface area than Pluto.
- Pluto never made it all the way around the sun from the time it was discovered to when they decided it was not a planet.
- Cleopatra lived closer to the invention of the iPhone than she did to the building of the Great Pyramid. (I found this to be really amazing!)
- Mammoths went extinct 1,000 years after the Egyptians finished building the Great Pyramid. (I was really surprised by this!)
- There are more fake flamingos in the world than real flamingos.
- The last time the Chicago Cubs won the baseball World Series, the Ottoman Empire still existed and lollipops had not yet been invented.
- Honey never spoils. You can eat 32,000-year-old honey.
- There’s enough water in Lake Superior to cover all of North and South America in one foot of water. (Since I live in Michigan, this one caught my attention!)
- Turtles can breathe out of their butts. (My grandsons thought this was really funny!)
