Hand Down Confident Faith - Remember & Be Thankful

I enjoy it very much when my grandsons go on vacation with their parents - the photos from their week exploring new places bring such happiness to my heart! I love being able to see their faces reflect their joy at accomplishing a physical feat (such as climbing to the top of an almost-mountain in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and being able to see all the way to Lake Superior), or exploring in amazing caves in Ohio, or kayaking, or whatever it is they did wherever it is they went. I know the memories they have of these trips will bring them joy as well.

Life passes quickly, much more quickly than we realize at the time, but when we look back, we are able to see how much value the memories hold for us and how God was with us each step of the way. He tells us -

I thank my God every time I remember you . . . being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3, 6

We know God will finish what He began - His good work in us and in the ones we love. When we remember this, we are filled with thankfulness!

This is true for the ones we love as well. When we focus upon handing down confident faith, we will watch for opportunities to connect everyday life with how God is doing what He said He will do - a good work in their lives which He will be faithful to complete. When they see and remember this, they will be thankful - and experience God's joy as well!

So, remember the blessings of the past (such as being able to watch the children you love experience new things) and for how God keeps His promises - and hand down confident faith!
