The Reason for God - Absolutely a Must-Have Book

Many grandparents/ parents find themselves in a place where they are needing to answer questions relating to why they should believe God is real, the Bible is true, God and science go together, and God is good from their grandchildren/ grown children/ children. While some may know the answers, many do not. This is why today I am so very happy to share with you a book which answers these very questions - and does so with excellent, thoughtful answers. Tim Keller is the author of The Reason for God and this is a must-have book for every grandparent/ parent.

Favorite Features -

  • The first part of the book focuses upon the questions raised by doubters - such as . . . How could a Good God allow suffering?, How can a loving God send people to Hell?, Science has disproved Christianity, and You can't take the Bible literally, and more.
  • The second part of the book focuses upon the "whys" - why we are able to believe.
  • The book ends with "Where do we go from here?"
Penguin Books says; "New York Times bestseller people can believe in—by 'a pioneer of the new urban Christians' (Christianity Today) and the "C.S. Lewis for the 21st century' (Newsweek).

Timothy Keller was the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, addresses the frequent doubts that skeptics, and even ardent believers, have about religion. Using literature, philosophy, real-life conversations, and potent reasoning, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is, in fact, a sound and rational one. To true believers he offers a solid platform on which to stand their ground against the backlash to religion created by the Age of Skepticism. And to skeptics, atheists, and agnostics, he provides a challenging argument for pursuing the reason for God."

If you have someone you love who is asking questions, someone who has turned from their faith, run - don't walk - to your computer and order this book, now. Read it. Do as I did and underline the parts which stand out to you, fold down corners of pages to mark where you underlined. Be ready to be encouraged and watch for opportunities to share what you learn with the ones you love.

If the ones you love have not turned from their faith - do the same things, but make time to share what you learn with them to equip them with the "whys" before they turn away. We do not have to sit by and helplessly watch as the ones we love turn away from their faith - we are able to equip ourselves to know the "whys", we are able to share them with the ones we love, we are able to make a difference. The Reason for God will absolutely help you to do this.
