Tasters Welcome!

On the wall by the entry to my kitchen is a sign which says; "Grandma's Kitchen - Tasters Welcome!" My grandsons believe this sign . . . especially when I'm baking homemade cookies!

I'm glad they believe it, because it is true - they are always welcome to, "taste" in my kitchen! It puts a smile on my face when they "taste" and especially when they enjoy what they tasted!

As happy as this makes me, it makes me even happier when they "taste" and see how "good" God is! He also has a "sign" which invites us to "taste" of His goodness - Psalm 34:8 tells us -
"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him." (NIV)
and He is so happy when we accept His invitation!

I want my grandsons to "taste" of God's goodness, because I know when they do they will see He is truly good and will want to take refuge in Him. And this is what we are doing when we pass on our faith - helping our grandchildren "taste and see" how good God is! I can help my grandsons "taste" God's goodness in many ways - including . . .
1. When I share with them the truth in God's Word. Each time we read God's Word and talk about what it means, how they can live it in their lives and how it is true, they have the opportunity to "taste" of God's goodness!
2. When we pray together and when we talk about how God has answered our prayers in the past. This is a great way for them to see and "taste" God's goodness!
3. When we take time to notice how God shows His goodness to us every day - in big and small ways . . . such as when they see the flowers growing in the Spring or are thankful for our warm, dry home in a thunder storm . . . they are able to "taste" and see how good God is!
These are just a few ways my grandsons can, "taste and see" how good God is! As grandma I delight in having them "taste" the goodies in my kitchen, and I know God is even more delighted when they "taste" of His goodness!
