grandma's cookbook - Surprise Inside Cookies!

Monday I shared a tasty cookie recipe with you for National Homemade Cookie Day. Yesterday I shared they delicious Peanut-Butter Cup Cookies recipe and today I wanted to share one more recipe for Chocolate Kisses Surprise Inside Cookies instead!

I use the Peanut-Butter Blossom cookie recipe in my Better Homes and Garden's Cookbook, but this one I found from the Hershey's kitchen is very similar (you'll find it at this link). I substitute butter for the shortening for a softer and more flavorful cookie. Refrigerate your mixed cookie dough for one hour and then put a chocolate kiss in the middle of each cookie; cover with more dough; seal the kiss in the dough and bake for ten minutes. When the cookies come out of the oven, flatten the kiss a bit! Cool and enjoy!
