Plan You Own Silly, Snowy, Family Fun Day!

Since Winter has finally arrived and there is actually snow on the ground here in Michigan, I thought it might be fun today to share some winter jokes for children which I found online . . .

  • Q: What did the snowman have for breakfast?
    A: Frosted Snowflakes
  • Q: What often falls in the winter but never gets hurt?
    A: Snow
  • Q: What do you have in December which you can’t have in any other month?
    A: The letter D
  • Q: What do Snowmen call their offspring?
    A: Chill-dren.
  • Q: What food do you get when you cross Frosty with a wolf?
    A: A brrrr-grrr.
  • Q: Where do snowmen keep their money?
    A: In a snow bank.
  • Q: How does a penguin build a house?
    A: Igloos it together.
  • A: Never catch snowflakes on your tongue until all the birds have flown south for the winter.
  • Q: How did Jack Frost get to work?
    A: By icicle.
Which joke do you like the best? I'm torn between the joke about what you get when you cross Frosty with a wolf and the one about the penguins.

So, in the spirit of Winter and with the winter jokes in mind, consider planning your own silly family snow day with your grandchildren. Make your own medals with cardboard and foil and plan some fun events. You could have a joke contest and see who is able to find/make up the funniest winter jokes, sports jokes, snow jokes, and riddles. You could have an event to see who is able to make the funniest mask and if you live where there is snow, have a snow-angel making contest or a contest to see who is able to make the biggest or funniest snow-man. If you do not live where there is snow, have a contest drawing or using paper to build/make your snow-men. My grandsons have made snow bears, snow ducks of doom, and a snow octopus (see the photo above)!

You could always end your contests with one where you decorate cupcakes or cookies and enjoy hot cocoa . . . a very tasty way to end the event for sure!

Have fun!
