This can be a fun recipe for you to make with your grandchildren. Have them wash their hands and let them press the crust into the pan. They can also help with adding the apples, making sure they are evenly spread on the top of the crust and they can help pour the crumble topping on the apples as well. Of course, they can help with the most important job - tasting! Be sure to talk with them about how God created apples and lead them in thanking God for creating such wonderful things for us to enjoy!
My family loves this topped with a scoop of ice cream! Basically this recipe is a mix between lemon bars - I use the recipe for the base for lemon bars for the base for this dessert - and apple pie! Not only will it taste amazing, but it will fill your home with the aroma of apples and cinnamon, too!
