Today I am happy to share with you a recipe for pie "goodness" - a recipe your grandchildren are able to make - peanut butter, ice cream pie! This is such a tasty and simple pie, and it is the Great American Pie Month so, what could possibly be better?
Ingredients -
If you make this pie, how will you top it?
- Heavy whipping cream - one pint per pie
- Vanilla ice cream - something creamy is best, but get whatever you like
- Peanut butter
- Cookie or graham cracker pie crust
- Favorite toppings - strawberries, chocolate syrup, mini chocolate chips, M&Ms, etc.
Directions -
- Soften ice cream - 1/2 container per pie (about 1/4 gallon)
- Mix whipping cream
- Fold in softened ice cream
- Pour into pie crust
- If making peanut butter ice cream pie, add peanut butter and mix throughout (we add about 1/2 cup for one pie, but use what you prefer to get it to be as peanutty as you like.)
- When you serve, have toppings available, so people are able to add what they like to their pie.
- Enjoy
There are several things about this recipe which makes it one of my favorite pies . . .
- It is ice cream and whipping cream (with toppings) . . . what isn't there to love about this pie!!!
- The recipe is simple enough even young children are able to make it with just a little help.
- It is ice cream and whipping cream (with toppings) . . . what isn't there to love about this pie!!!
- It is the Great American Pie Month and pie is clearly a great way to celebrate!
- Did I mention, it is ice cream and whipping cream (with toppings) . . . what isn't there to love about this pie!!!
Consider making two pies - a vanilla pie (so you are able to top it with strawberries for a strawberry sundae ice cream pie!!!!) and a peanut butter ice cream pie (because it will be wonderful!)
