The Dr. Seuss Quote for Today is - It is Better to Know How to Learn . . .

The Dr. Seuss Quote for today is, "It is better to know how to learn than to know!" Hmmm . . . I wouldn't say it is "better for us to "know how to learn" than it is for us to "know", but it is important for us to "know how to learn", especially when it comes to knowing and walking with God! I believe it is better for us to "know how to learn" AND it is important for us to "know"! We need both! Thankfully, God doesn't leave us to try and figure things out for ourselves! He gave us the Bible so we can know how to learn . . . just look at Psalm 119:105 -

"Your word is like a lamp for my feet and a light for my path." Ephesians 4:17, 23-32 tells us, "In the Lord's name, I tell you this. Do not continue living like those who do not believe. Their thoughts are worth nothing. But you were taught to be made new in your hearts, to become a new person. That new person is made to be like God—made to be truly good and holy. So you must stop telling lies. Tell each other the truth, because we all belong to each other in the same body. When you are angry, do not sin, and be sure to stop being angry before the end of the day. Do not give the devil a way to defeat you. Those who are stealing must stop stealing and start working. They should earn an honest living for themselves. Then they will have something to share with those who are poor. When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you. And do not make the Holy Spirit sad. The Spirit is God's proof that you belong to him. God gave you the Spirit to show that God will make you free when the final day comes.  Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil.  Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ." God's Word gives us light so we can know how to learn!  We do need to know how to learn the things God wants us to know, but it is very simple for us to know how to learn . . . we need to turn to God's Word because, like He tells us in Micah 6:8, "The LORD God has told us what is right and what he demands: 'See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.'"  When we know "how to learn" AND we know what to "know", then we are able to know and walk with God and there is nothing more important in this life than for us to know, love and walk with God!

Be sure to point this out to your grandchildren, too! Help them understand how important it is for them to turn to God's Word to learn what they need to know! Be sure to take a moment to pray for each grandchild by name - "Thank You God for loving us enough to give us Your Word so we can know how to learn what we need to know! Please help _____  know he/she can learn how to be made new in his/her heart! Please help him/her know he/she can turn to Your Word to learn what You say is right and then to choose to humbly obey You! Thank You, Amen!"
