The Dr. Seuss Quote for Today is - Everything Stinks Till it's Finished

The Dr. Seuss Quote for today is,   "Everything stinks till it's finished!"  Hmmm . . . I definitely do not agree with this saying, because while some things in life are difficult, and even unpleasant, others are pure joy! Even when things are not going the way we want, we are able to have an attitude of joy, so whether something "stinks" or not, is completely up to us! Look at Philippians 4:4-9 . . .

"Be full of joy in the Lord always. I will say again, be full of joy. Let everyone see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon. Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks. And God's peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected. Do what you learned and received from me, what I told you, and what you saw me do. And the God who gives peace will be with you."

Be full of joy always! Do not worry about anything, but instead pray and talk to God with a thankful heart! If you do these things, you will experience God's peace, which is so amazing we can not understand it! Think about things which are good, worthy of praise, true, honorable, right, pure, beautiful, and respected then God will be with us! So . . . maybe a better "saying" would be, "Rejoice! Be thankful and experience God's peace!" It is all about attitude!

Be sure to point this out to your grandchildren, too! Help them understand how important it is for them to choose to rejoice and have an attitude of thankfulness when things are going their way and when they are not. Talk with them about the things Philippians 4 tells us to think about and have them come up with examples of things which are good, worthy of praise, true, honorable, etc. Be sure to take a moment to pray for each grandchild by name - "Thank You God for making Your peace available for _____ ! Please help him/her choose to rejoice, give thanks and think about the things You tell us to think about. Please help him/her experience Your peace and knowing You are with him/her when he/she does these things! Thank You, Amen!"
