The Dr. Seuss Quote for today - Unless . . .

The Dr. Seuss Quote for today . . . "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not!"  This quote makes me think of a few questions . . . What do I care about? Who do I care about? How much do I care? What am I willing to DO in regards to what and who I care about? I John 3:16-18 says,  "This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his need—how can God’s love reside in him?  Little children, we must not love with word or speech, but with truth and action.Jesus cared about us . . . a "whole awful lot", but He wasn't willing to just talk about how much He cared. He acted. He came. He gave His all. Do I give my all?

If we want things to get better, we do have to care "a whole awful lot", but this "caring" has to be shown by our actions, not just our words. Galatians 6:9,10 says, "So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith." We must work for the good of all and not get tired of doing good! When we give our all and do not give up, things will "get better" at the "proper time"!

Be sure to point this out to your grandchildren, too! Ask them what they do to show they care "a whole awful lot" by their actions and not just their words. Help them think of a project they could do to show their community, their church, their family, their friends or people in the world they do care "a whole awful lot"! Be sure to take a moment to pray for each grandchild by name - "Thank You God for showing _____ Your love by Your actions. Please help him/her show he/she cares "a whole awful lot" by caring, not just with words but with his/her actions, too!"
