Today is National Love Our Children Day

Today is National Love Our Children Day - Nationaltoday (dot) com says; "Children are precious gems who must be loved and cherished. National Love Our Children Day is a chance to celebrate the little people who make the world a brighter place, reminding us they deserve to be celebrated every day." The "point" of this day is of course to remind is to let the children we love know we love them, and to raise awareness of child abuse.

Of course the first part of this is easy - I make time all the time to let my grown children and grandchildren know how dearly they are loved - I tell them in person, I message them on facebook, send texts, etc. They have heard how dearly I love them at least a time or two! I also show my love by being there for birthdays, holidays, any day of the week, weekends when the grands come for a sleepover (nearly every weekend) and for meals on the weekend with my grown children as well. I let the ones I love know how dearly they are loved with my words and my actions. As they say on Nationaltoday (dot) com - "The celebration of National Love Our Children Day must go beyond one single day. Every day of the year, make a commitment to yourself to stand against all forms of abuse towards children. Speak up when you notice that a child might be in danger."

The second part of this day is heartbreaking, but sadly children are abused and neglected and bullied every day. In 2021 588,229 children were abused in the USA. We need to watch for children who need help, teach our children and grandchildren to be compassionate, to help those who are bullied, and to never be a bully.

So on this day make the commitment to let your grown children and grandchildren know how dearly they are loved - by your words and your actions, and to be a person who cares about and helps children in need. As they say on Nationaltoday (dot) com - "The celebration of National Love Our Children Day must go beyond one single day. Every day of the year, make a commitment to yourself to stand against all forms of abuse towards children. Speak up when you notice a child might be in danger."
