Today is National Idaho Day

If you live in Idaho, today is a day to celebrate - it is National Idaho Day! Whether you live in Idaho or not, let's look at some of their silly laws and some interesting facts about this State - my grandsons usually find these things interesting - the children you love may as well. Did you know . . . 

  • It is against the law to live in a dog kennel (or house) unless you're a dog.
  • In Idaho Falls, it is illegal to ride a motorcycle if you're over 88.
  • It is illegal to ride a merry-go-round on a Sunday.
  • Selling an "Idaho Deluxe" potato with rot, blemishes, or sun damage can get you sent to jail for up to six months.
  • The state of Idaho forbids you from fishing off the back of a camel.

  • Idaho is the 43rd state in the union.
  • It is home to the Rocky Mountains range, Snake River, and some of the deepest river gorges in North America.
  • Idaho is best known for its potato crop.
  • Idaho is also known as ‘The Gem State’ due to the massive varieties of gems that are found in the state.
