Summer Reading - Narwhal's Sweet Tooth

As I wrote yesterday, Penguin/Random House Canada/Tundra sent me books for my Summer Reading Reviews. Today I'm happy to let you know about Narwhal's Sweet Tooth, by Ben Clanton. When my grandsons were young, the loved the books in the Narwhal and Jelly series, so when I saw this one, I knew I wanted to include it in my Summer Reading Reviews.

Favorite Features -

  • The return of the much-loved, Narwhal and Jelly characters in a new adventure.
  • I LOVE all the fun facts about Narwhals, Jellies, Sharks, Purple Urchins, and more sea creatures.
  • I LOVE the focus on the friendship of Narwhal and Jelly.
  • The illustrations are fun.
  • Encourages children to brush their teeth and strongly communicates how it is okay to feel however you do - and even have days which aren't so great.
Tundra Books says, "Dive into four new stories so sweet they'll make your teeth tingle! Everyone knows Narwhal is a big fan of sugary treats — but Jelly is shocked when Narwhal's tusk-tooth isn't looking so pearly white anymore and is feeling a little funny. It turns out, Narwhal has been using it as a "snack saver"! Thankfully, no one knows more about dental hygiene than Shark — she has seven rows of teeth, after all! Meanwhile, Jelly and Crab try to show Narwhal it's fine to frown if you're feeling down. Can Narwhal's friends convince the happiest creature in the ocean it's okay to have a bad day?"

If you have children you love who are ages six through nine,  Narwhal's Sweet Tooth is sure to be a hit! They will love reading this graphic novel for themselves - and they and their younger siblings will enjoy you reading it to them as well. Check it out for Summer Reading at your house!
