Today is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day

Oh yes . . . one of my favorite store-bought cookies is the classic, Nutter Butter Cookie, so since today is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day and I saw a recipe for making a homemade version of Nutter Butters, well, I had to share it, but first let's look at some fun peanut butter facts - did you know . . .

  1. Astronauts eat peanut butter with tortillas

Because bread has too many crumbs for a zero-gravity environment, astronauts who love peanut butter enjoy it on a tortilla!

  2. ‘Peanut Butter Patties’ are one of the best-selling Girl Scout Cookies

  3. ‘Tagalongs’ or ‘Peanut Butter Patties’ are usually the runner-up or third-bestselling cookie of the Girl Scouts.

  4. There are big peanut butter spenders

$800 million is spent yearly in America just on peanut butter!

  5. A kitchen staple

According to one survey, it’s estimated that ¾ of the houses in America have at least one jar of peanut butter in their home.

You will find more fun facts for this tasty day at this link. Now for the recipe - just follow this link and you'll find the recipe for making these soft and delicious cookies which are sure to be completely enjoyed by anyone who loves peanutbutter! I'd reduce the sugar and brown sugar by 1/4 cup each - but then I tend to reduce the sugar in pretty much everything I make. I've found doing this does not change how delicious the cookies are . . . they just make them slightly "better" for you! ;-) I'd say, "enjoy", but really, it is completely unnecessary to do so as what else would you do with cookies like these! :-D
