While I think every month should be a "family fun month", apparently August is the official Family Fun Month! So . . . what might you do to have family fun during the month of August? Consider some of the following ideas . . .
- August 6th is, National Wiggle Your Toes Day - who would have even thought such a day existed??? - plan to take time to wiggle your toes! You could also take photos of your family's feet . . . and toes of course! Frame them for a unique - and funny - family photo!!! :-) Take a walk on a beach and then go back and look at your footprints! Make plaster casts of your footprints! Paint, preserve and then put your "footprints" in your yard or garden for a unique and personal "touch"!
- August 6th is also Root Beer Float Day - again, why shouldn't every day be Root Beer Float Day? But, hooray!!! At least one day is, so celebrate!
- August 8th is Happiness Happens Day - and it is a day to be happy and make others happy too! Enjoy!
- August 10th is 'Smores Day - build a bonfire, invite friends and make smores!
- August 11th is Son's & Daughter's Day - make time to let your sons and daughters know how very much you love them!
- August 12th is World Elephant Day - I love elephants, especially Pygmy Elephants . . . young elephants live longer if a grandma elephant is near and "teen" male elephants grow up to be "responsible" if they have a Poppa elephant who is involved with them. Elephants remind me to make a difference in the lives of my grandsons.
- August 14th is National Creamsicle Day - another tasty day to celebrate for sure!
- August 16th is National Tell a Joke Day - this one will get you all laughing . . . consider having a tell-a-joke-contest!
These are just a few fun ideas to get you started - you will find more ways to celebrate in August at this link . . . what might you do to enjoy Family Fun Month? :-)
