Today is National New Hampshire Day

If you, or someone you love, call the State of New Hampshire "home", then today is a day to celebrate! So, once again, I will share some of their silly laws with you and some of the interesting facts about this State so you are able to share them with the children you love. Did you know . . . 

  • It is illegal to pick up seaweed off the beach.
  • “No person, while hunting or obviously on his way to or from hunting may have a ferret in his possession, custody or control.”
  • You may not tap your feet, nod your head, or in any way keep time to the music in a tavern or cafĂ©.
  • It is illegal to show a movie before 2 pm.

  • It was the ninth state to join the Union.
  • New Hampshire is known as the Granite State.
  • The motto of New Hampshire is “Live Free or Die,” a call to live freely and boldly.
  • The top of Mt. Washington recorded a wind speed of 230 miles per hour on April 12, 1934.
  • The film “Jumanji” was filmed here.
  • It’s the only state in the U.S.A. where seatbelts are not mandatory.
