Tomorrow is National Homemade Cookie Day

Tomorrow is National Homemade Cookie Day, so I certainly had to celebrate it with you by sharing my family's favorite cookie recipe with you - Three Boy's Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter & Oatmeal Cookies!

Ingredients -
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions -
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Mix butter, peanut butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs so they are well combined.
  • Add dry ingredients
  • Add chocolate chips
  • Scoop onto ungreased baking sheets
  • Bake for nine to eleven minutes until golden around edges, but still soft for a truly wonderful cookie
  • Transfer to cooling racks
  • Expect children (adults) in the house to raid the cookies!
  • Enjoy!
According to a website I found, the most popular homemade cookies include chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar cookies, oatmeal, and snickerdoodles - all delicious cookies and worthy of being made and enjoyed on this day! They also gave some hints to making great homemade cookies . . .
  1. Ingredients should be at room temperature.
  2. Use an ice cream scoop to help with portion size
  3. Rotate cookies in oven halfway through for even cooking
  4. Let them cool before removing from cookie sheet.

What is your family's favorite homemade cookie?
