Since today is Global Cat day, I thought I'd share a pattern I found on Pinterest for a granny square cat! If I had a granddaughter, I'd make one for her . . . if my grandsons were younger, I'd make one for them. For today, I'll share this pattern so if you want to make one, you'll have the link! (If you follow this link you'll find a photo tutorial to help you make your own granny square cat!)
The body is made from granny squares . . . great opportunity to use left over scraps of yarn and should be a great pattern for a new crocheter to make! If you have a grandchild who is learning to crochet, this could be a fun pattern for you to make together! They could make one for a younger sibling or friend and then tuck it away to save as a birthday gift or for Christmas! It could also be a great pattern for you to use to involve your grandchildren in making gifts for children in shelters or to put in a shoe box for Christmas time!Or if you are a "Cat Lady" - childless or not - you could use the pattern to make a cat for yourself - or maybe modify it and make a vest, or sweater, or purse, or ??? Just a thought!
Follow the links and have fun making them yourself and with your grandchildren!
