Today's Christmas Carol - Mary Did You Know?

My Christmas Carol for you today is a song by Mark Lowry - Mary Did You Know? This song has become a favorite of many as it has some of the most powerful lyrics of any song. Quite a few singers have recorded it, but my favorite is Pentatonix - you will find it at this link. Look at the lyrics:

Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water? Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man? Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand? Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? And when your kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will walk again. The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb? This sleeping child you're holding is the great I am

As a mother and grandmother, I understand about holding a sleeping baby and wondering what his/her life will look like. Jesus came to this Earth as a baby, a tiny baby, but He is the Lord of all creation; the Great I Am and He came to make us all new! This is the message of Christmas; the Reason for the Season and the Reason we can rejoice!

This is clearly a song which communicates the message and the wonder of Christmas! Won't you join me in "caroling" your friends by "sharing" my Christmas Carol posts with your friends?!
