grandma's cookbook - Chocolate Lasagna!!!

Chances are you are wondering about this post . . . what kind of recipe could possibly be called, "chocolate lasagna"? Is it good? It does have "chocolate" in the name, so doesn't this mean it must be tasty? But, chocolate "lasagna"????

Well . . . have no fear!!!! This is a dessert which will leave you heading for the store to get the ingredients, for sure!!! My daughter, Tiffany, posted this recipe on her facebook and when I saw it, I knew I had to share it with you!

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons cold milk
  • 1 - 12 ounce tub Cool Whip
  • 2 - 3.9 ounce packages Chocolate instant pudding
  • 3 1/4 cups cold milk
  • 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
Directions -
  1. Begin by crushing 36 Oreo cookies so they are a fine crumb mixture
  2. Pour into a bowl and stir in melted butter
  3. Press into a 13x9 baking dish and refrigerate while you prepare the remaining ingredients
  4. Mix cream cheese until light and fluffy
  5. Add 2 Tablespoons of milk, sugar and mix well
  6. Add 1 1/4 cups of Cool Whip
  7. Spread mixture over crust
  8. Combine 3 1/4 cups milk with pudding and mix until thickened
  9. Spread pudding over cream cheese layer
  10. Allow dessert to "rest" for five minutes to "firm up" a bit
  11. Spread remaining Cool Whip over top and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips
  12. Freeze for 1 hour before serving or refrigerate for four hours before serving
  13. Enjoy!!!
The children you love will enjoy making - and eating - this with you, so grab them and the ingredients and get ready for some tasty fun. So . . . what do you think??? Oh, I see . . . you are headed to the store, right???!!! :-) Enjoy!
