Certainly all of us who have four-legged family members, love them on all days, but tomorrow is a day to especially take time to be thankful for and to love these wonderful members of our family. In my home we have a cat - Candy. She is quite the cat. I thought she would be "aloof" but she is not at all! She greets us when we come home, she snuggles a LOT, and she is a pretty wonderful addition to our family.
When my children were young, we had Basset Hounds - Mindy and Giggles, and an English Springer Spaniel - Scout - all were wonderful members of our family. My grands have two dogs - Gimli and Roxi, and three cats - Walter, Lilith, and Jade. Yes, my family has a history of having loved four-legged family members. "According to Wisevoter’s Pet Ownership Statistics, in 2019 about 57% of American households owned at least one pet."
- Dogs have over 100 million facial expressions - with ears and eyebrows like they have, it is no wonder they are so easy to love!
- A Pack of Cats is different than a pack of kittens - a pack of kittens is called a kindle, while a pack of adult cats is called a chowder.
- Parrots need love, too - as the 4th most popular pet and with vocal cords louder than an ambulance, they will let you know if they are not getting attention!
- #1: Dog (40%)
- #2: Cat (25%)
- #3: Fish (8%)
- #4: Bird (e.g. parakeet, cockatiel, parrot, etc.) (4%)
- #5: Hamster/gerbil/mouse (2%)
