Colored Easter Egg Alternatives - Painted Stone Eggs

As I've been writing over the past few days, because eggs are SO expensive, and often difficult to find, you might be looking for other ideas for fun with the children you love this Easter besides coloring real eggs. Today I have one more idea for you - painting stone "eggs"!

This is a simple idea, and won't cost much at all. You could go on a walk to find and gather stones for painting, then take time to decorate them. After they dry, you could hide them in your yard for a stone "egg" hunt, and even hide some at friend's homes and neighbor's homes and then let them know they can go on a surprise stone "egg" hunt, too!
