Colored Egg Alternative - Rice Krispies Treat Decorated Eggs!

As I said a couple days ago, with the rising price of eggs and difficulty finding eggs, you may be looking for other options this Easter when it comes to coloring eggs, so I'm sharing a few ideas with you. My idea for today is simple, inexpensive, fun - and importantly - tasty - Rice Krispies Treat Decorated Eggs!

All you have to do is take your rice krispies treats, shape them into eggs, decorate with color, sprinkles, frosting - whatever you want - and of course, enjoy! Your grands will love making and eating these. You will find the details at this link and a recipe from Kellogs for "Hidden Surprise Easter Egg Treat" at this link.

I thought it would be fun to share a few fun facts about Rice Krispie Treats - did you know . . .

  • The Rice Krispies cereal sounds called "Snap! Crackle! Pop!" in the U.S. are called "Riks! Raks! Poks!" in Finnish. In Germany, Rice Krispies go 'Knisper! Knasper! Knusper!' and in Mexico, they go 'Pim! Pam! Pum!' rather than 'Snap! Crackle! Pop!'. In each country they make a different sound!
  • The cereal "Rice Krispies" are known as "Rice Bubbles" in Australia and New Zealand, and the motto, "Snap! Crackle, and Pop" in Swedish is, "Piff! Paff! Puff!"

  • The year before “Satisfaction” made them superstars The Rolling Stones wrote and recorded a Rice Krispies jingle for a TV commercial.

You will find more fun facts at this link - share them with the children you love while you make your Rice Krispie Treat Decorated Eggs!
