Children's Day Scavenger Hunt Fun!

As I said in my last post, I love the idea of Children's Day because I love to celebrate the sweet children in my life! So . . . I'm thinking it would be great fun to plan a Children's Day Scavenger Hunt as an activity for us all to enjoy together as we celebrate these amazing blessings from the hand of God!

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Parks - Give the Gift of Nature!

My husband and I treated ourselves to a membership for the second year at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. We heard as you get older it is very beneficial for our health for us to spend time in nature, so since we live in West Michigan where for at least part of the year there is snow and nature is not very "inviting", we decided to get the membership as along with the amazing gardens and sculptures they also have a huge tropical conservatory - nature is available all year!

Children's Day - Yes, It Is Real!

June 9, 2024 is Children's Day! Yes, it is a real holiday . . . (If you look it up on Google, it says the USA celebrates Children's Day on the second Sunday in June - this has been the official date since the 1800's - I really did not make this holiday up!!!) :-)

A Family of Her Own for Candy - Great Children's Day Gift for the Children You Love

The summer of 2022 my husband, grandsons, and I went to the Humane Society to get a kitten. I wanted my grandsons to go with us because, first of all, they love all animals, secondly I wanted to be sure whatever cat we got was one which was able to be around my grandsons without being aggressive. We spent some time at the Humane Society and finally settled on a very sweet calico - which we named Candy, because she is sweet (and my middle grandson said she reminded him of candy corn.)

Four Steps to Making Great Memories with Grandchildren!

One of my favorite devotions from the Grandmother's Biblewas written by Bobbie  Wolgemuth and is entitled, "I Will . .  I Will . . ."  She says, "Psalm 9 contains a great 'I Will' activity list to remember when you spend time with your grandchild. First, start with an attitude of praise. Tell the Lord what you are thankful for. Count your blessings, name them. It will be easy to have a heart full of thankfulness after you've named even a few. Your heart will be full and running over with the kind of attitude which pleases God and spills over on the young ones with the love of the Savior.

Make the Most of Being a Mom or Grandma with The DNA of Grandparents & Parents Who Hand Down Confident Faith

If you are looking for a book to help a mom or grandma you love make the most of handing down confident faith, consider this book - The DNA of Grandparents & Parents Who Hand Down Confident Faith.

In this book I look at how our physical DNA is a truly amazing and essential part of who we are, as it holds the "code" or instructions for the things which make us unique as well as for the things we share. It connects us with the generations who came before us; as well as with those who come behind. It is the core of who we are physically.

Mother's Day Gift Idea - Hand-print Picture Frame!

As I've mentioned a time or two - or likely many more . . . I love photos of my sweet grandsons! I also love to do tracings of their little hands when they were little, so when I saw this craft I absolutely fell in love with it! It makes a great, personalized, and unique way to frame a photo!

Mother's Day is tomorrow, so if you are looking for a great gift which you can help your grandchildren make for their mom, take a look at this terrific idea I found on Pinterest for a hand-print picture frame!

Give the Gift of "Why" for Mother's Day

Mother's Day is just a few days away, so if you are looking for a gift to give a mom you know, consider giving them the gift of "why" with the new book - the little answer book. This little book will give them "whys" to share with the ones they love - to equip them to have a confident faith, and to have important conversations with the ones they love who have turned away from their faith.

Today is National Washington State Day

Yes, today is the day to celebrate Washington State, so we will once again look at some of their silly laws and some interesting facts about this State. My grandsons enjoy the silly laws, so this is the reason I share them with you. Did you know . . .

Make the Most of Being a Grandparent - Don't Worry: It Is Impossible to Spoil Grandchildren - Great Mother's Day Gift

I've been writing for several years about how important it is for us, as grandparents to hand down a heritage of confident faith. One way I do this is to let you know about resources to help you as you do this.

Today I'm letting you know about a book I wrote . . . Don't Worry: It Is Impossible to Spoil Grandchildren In this book, along with sharing some of my "cute-grandson stories", I talk about important things for grandparents to think about and keep in mind as they focus on handing down a heritage of confident faith to their grandchildren. I talk about -
